Milo was born and raised in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. He came to the States for college and has since settled down here. Cydny was born and raised in Chicago, but her parents immigrated from Romania in the 80's. Milo loves cooking and Cydny loves baking so you can say he's the salty one and she's the sweet one :) We want to share the passion and love we have for food with all our customers.
Our food is mainly influenced by Sichuan flavors. When you tell people in China that you're from Sichuan Province, most people's first response would be "Oh man, you guys know how to eat over there!". Matter of fact, UNESCO declared Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan, to be a City of Gastronomy in 2011 to recognize the sophistication of its cooking. Its cuisine has bold flavors, particularly the pungency and spiciness resulting from liberal use of garlic, ginger, chili peppers, Doubanjiang (fermented spicy broad bean paste), as well as the unique flavor of Sichuan peppercorn, and other various spices. We also often offer our takes on other styles of cuisine as well as our own Fusion creations.
There is so much history, so many wonderful flavors and lots of fantastic dishes in Chinese and Sichuan cuisine outside of “General Tso's Chicken” or “Sweet and Sour Pork”! We want to encourage everyone to be more open-minded and adventurous when it comes to not just food, but different cultures. Our world is full of surprises and deliciousness!
